Home for the holidays.... (a little late)
Webmaster note.... As you will read, this dispatch was written back at Christmas by Jason Pavich. Somehow it got lost in the "Christmas mail"... and I did not receive it till January 19th.
With that in mind, I'm sorry this dispatch is a little late.... But Jason has done a fine job telling the story of Christmas onboard the Ice Breaker. Along with the ongoing challenges of keeping our ship in an environment that in most cases is not very friendly.

Nobel Prize

Oscar winning documentaries are being made
about it... Carbon dioxide
(CO2)
has become a household term. We are
increasingly aware that even our most

air travel, are adding huge amounts of
carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. But how
does all this atmospheric carbon dioxide
effect our oceans, which occupy most of the
Earth’s surface and are so critical to
balancing what happens in the air above?

Sorry for the delay....
For the delays in getting more dispatches uploaded to the site over the past few weeks.
I actually took a few days off over the holiday season and took my family to a nice warm beach before I head back north myself.
I was amazed by the number of emails we got during this time wondering what was happening and why site updates had gone into a dormant state. Well, I guess that will teach me to think that no one would notice....
Sorry to the science folks who have been writing the dispatches and then wondering why their effort has not been posted. Well all I can say is I did think of you once and a while as I played in the surf and stayed close to the beach bar.... :)) Read More...
