The making of a film at the top of the world....
We are here making
a documentary film about the CFL project.
Even though we’re shooting in Winter and
there’s only about two hours a day of light
– and that’s twilight – when we shoot the
light is beautiful. As a filmmaker and
cinematographer it’s like a kid being in a
candy store. I want to grab everything and
put it in my camera.

The Amundsen is another beautiful wonder.
Never having been on an ice cutter before I
am amazed of its power to navigate through
ice. We were actually pleasantly surprised
about the accommodations on board, also. We
had no idea what to expect. The truth is
the ship is way beyond what our
expectations were.
We’re coming back in April and August to
continue filming through those two seasons.
We still have a little less than two weeks
on this leg – but already we’re looking
forward to the next visit.
We
know we’ve been tasked and trusted to make
a great film. Before it is over I project
we’ll shoot between 70 and 80 hours that
will eventually be edited down to 90
minutes. This kind of filmmaking requires a
tremendous amount of editing and
post-production.
Lets hope, from the 70-80 hours of HD tape
we ultimately shoot, that we choose the
right 90 minutes to comprise a compelling,
engaging and exciting motion picture!

All the best,
Anthony Christopher
