The International nature of the CFL is a testament to the science community who have come from many corners of the globe to take part in the study.
The following dispatch is just another example of our international community who are completely at home communicating in many different languages.

卷卷学子意，茫茫冰雪情。

在一片喧嚣的直升机启动声中，新的LEG开始了，新的征程就绪了，我独自一人躺在新房间（cabin）的床上，回味着leg4的兴奋与艰辛，憧憬着leg5的冰海雪原，我的，我们的！

已经没有初来乍到时的腼腆与无所适从，俨然一个老练的水手重逢他心爱的港口和船舱，熟练的腾挪于上下甲板，滔滔的讲述着往昔温馨而激动的船上岁月。

导师的离开意味着我可以充分伸展自己的身体，呼吸属于自己的空气，当这些气体游走于我的全身时，似乎带有更大的压力而让我血脉喷张。那是责任，对信任的责任，冲击着我的每一个细胞。

一张张兴奋的面孔呈现在北极的冬天，不同的国家，不同的地域，带着同样的梦想和激情汇聚在漆黑的白毯之上。天，黑的彻底；地，白的精纯。黑天白地之间，一道红光闪过，那是我们中国龙支队，灰暗北极的一盏明灯，那灯，诞生于加拿大，那光，永留在北冰洋，那份对科学的痴迷与执着，正在灌注着我们的灵魂。

今天，我们游在地球的边缘，明天，我们将站在世界之巅。



只为你我，只为北冰洋属于地球上的每一个生物！

保护她，我们的责任
爱护她，我们的义务
探索她，为了完成我们的责任与义务

Today, Xiang, Shujiang, and I (Tao) are all standing on this boundless icy field and sharing our precious experience and our profound love for this land.

With the helicopter’s engine roaring, we started our new six week leg on the ship!




The other day, I lay on the bed in my new cabin recalling our days full of both excitement and hard work. Thanks to the excellent help from both the science and ship’s crew and my own hard work. I am now very much at ease here. In the future I will be able to look back at our golden days on the ship just like an old captain.

Since my advisor left at the end of Leg 4, I have more time on my own. But after I was given this so-called freedom, I felt a deeper sense of responsibility that comes from his trust in me. It has become a constant inspiration for me to work hard for the project.

Today friends from different countries and regions gather here with similar dreams and passions for this world of dark skies and pure white land. Between the dark and white worlds, there stands our Chinese team like a tiger full of vigour and hope. The eyes of the tiger shine like a star that brightens the dark polar world. Our journey started in Canada, our dream lies in the North, and our souls are enchanted by the charm of science.



It’s our responsibility and duty as human beings, to protect and cherish this magical and beautiful land!

To fulfil our responsibility and duty, we are trying our best to understand this wonderland!

Aujourd’hui, Xiang, Shujiang, et moi (Tao) nous trouvons sur ce terrain couvert de glace où nous allons partager avec vous notre précieuse expérience et notre profond amour pour cet endroit.

Notre aventure de 6 semaines sur ce bateau a commencée dans le rugissement de l’hélicoptère !

L’autre jour, étendu sur le lit de ma nouvelle cabine, je me remémorais nos journées pleine d’excitation, mais également d’intense travail. Je tiens d’ailleurs à remercier l’excellente aide reçue par l’équipage et les scientifiques. Je suis maintenant à mon aise ici. Une fois rentré, je me repenserais probablement au séjour sur ce bateau comme le ferait un vieux capitaine…

J’ai pris plus de temps pour moi au début du Leg 5, suite au départ de mon superviseur (à la fin de Leg 4). Mais cette soi-disant liberté n’a pas duré… Motivé par la confiance que mon superviseur me porte, le sens des responsabilités m’a rattrapé et s’est transformé en une inspiration constante qui m’aide à travailler dur sur ce projet !

Aujourd’hui, des personnes venant de différentes régions du monde sont rassemblés ici avec les mêmes rêves et la même passion pour cet endroit où ciel noir et sol blanc se contrastent. Dans cet environnement noir et blanc se trouve notre équipe chinoise telle un tigre vigoureux et plein d’espoirs. Ses yeux brillent comme des étoiles éclairant le sombre monde polaire. Notre voyage à commencé au Canada, lorsque nos rêves se sont placés dans le Nord, et que nos âmes se sont trouvées enchanter par le charme de la science.

Il va de notre responsabilité et de notre devoir de protéger et chérir ce pays magnifique et magique. Ainsi, nous faisons de notre mieux pour comprendre ce pays enchanté. Ce que nous faisons ici concerne tous les hommes et les créatures de l’Arctique !
